지금은 회사의 대표로, 대기업 부사장으로 일하는 연사분들도 미국에 처음 오셔서 한 때는 경력 공백기간이 있었습니다. 아이들을 키우면서도 내가 좋아하는 일을 시작하기 위해 작은 첫걸음을 내딛기로 선택했고, 나만의 속도로 나다운 길을 걸어 지금의 위치까지 오게 된, 우리보다 한발자국 앞에서 걷고 있는 멋진 분들의 얘기를 여러분과 나누고 싶어요.

Nari Woo

CEO at RadarLab, Inc

Nari Woo majored in information science in college and started working as an engineer in Japan. After two years at SI Japan, she joined Yahoo! Japan, where she developed Chiebukuro, the largest Q&A services in Japan, as well as designed and developed an advertising platform (YDN). She was also in charge of data analysis and growth hacking. Nari started in the field of data sciences with advertising sciences and became the senior manager of data sciences, UX team, as well as a creative board member. She founded RadarLab Inc, after leaving Yahoo! Japan in 2018, and she is currently developing a location-based community service as the CEO/CTO of the company. She also works as a technical adviser for many mid-sized and startups in Japan. She is also a proud mother of three children.

Soojin Chung

Senior business consultant
at The Spur Group

Soojin Chung, Sr. Business Operations Consultant at The Spur Group, is passionate about helping companies find innovative solutions through process mapping and data analytics. After graduating from Seoul National University in Korea, she earned a Ph.D. in Linguistics from Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris, France, and immigrated to the U.S. While raising three kids, she completed an MBA at the UW Tacoma. After being a stay-at-home mom for 10 years, Soojin re-started her career as an Operation Manager at Compass Group. Currently, she provides consulting services to Microsoft on cloud migration strategies and business program management.

Program Director

Dr. Bokyung Kim is a program director at Simple Steps. She is a psychology Ph.D. Her current works are developing self/career development programs, supporting job-seekers, and nurturing the environment where females can pursue their careers sustainably. She received her B.A. and M.A. in Psychology from Korea University and a Ph.D. degree in Psychology from Stanford University. At home, she is tech support for her first-grader and a snack fairy for her four-year-old daughter.

Doyeon Kim

Executive Director
at Simple Steps

Doyeon Kim is the founder and executive director of Simple Steps. Before starting Simple Steps, she worked in several nonprofit organizations, including the UN Global Compact Foundation. Doyeon is also a co-founder of JUMP, an international nonprofit, to provide fair educational opportunities for youth from multicultural and underserved backgrounds. As an IT consultant-turned-social entrepreneur, she is passionate about tackling hard to solve societal problems. Doyeon received her B.S. and M.S. from KAIST and her MPA from Harvard Kennedy School. She loves looking for new ways to satisfy a sweet tooth and creating dessert recipes with her boys.

Kat Choi

Program Director
at Simple Steps

Kat Choi hails from Canada with 10+ years of diverse work experiences ranging from art curation, exhibition design marketing, customer relations, blog editing, and community operations. By day, she works as a community operations manager at Blind and by night, as a program director at Simple Steps, leading English study groups and hosting webinars. She is dedicated to fulfilling its mission to reach out to as many hidden talents as possible to boost their self-esteem, self-awareness, and assist their journey to re-start their careers in the U.S. She has a B.A. in Fine Arts History and Architecture from the University of Toronto and lives in the East Bay with two adorable daughters who look identical to herself.

Nari Baek

Reporter

Nari Baek loves taking a long walk, reading great books, kayaking, and spending quality time with her 2-year-old cat, Finn. She has been working as a reporter since 2004 and is a Washington correspondent.

Jisun Myung

Food Performance Artist

Jisun Myung is a food performance/theater artist, musician, and researcher. She has worked with the National Theatre of Korea, National Traditional Opera Company of Korea, Dogear theater company, Sojourn theatre with Michael Rohd, Childsplay, Grey Box Collective, and Free Arts for Abused Children of Arizona. She is currently leading a virtual food performance project called 'Miyeokguk Project' which explores Korean women diaspora's cultural identity and reproduction rights with Seaweed soup (birthday soup). She is excited to listen to other women's stories and facilitate this session about marriage, family, and/or children.
