Below are some college admission resources for socioeconomically disadvantaged and/or underrepresented students.

2020 Summer/Fall College Programs is a long list of colleges that offer free programs for underrepresented students (a handful of colleges have committed to offer virtual programs this year). Some program deadlines are in the summer; double check dates and deadlines for programs you're interested in applying (some information is not yet updated on the list). Programs primarily target high school students.

College Greenlight connects first generation and underrepresented students to caring colleges, generous scholarships, and life-changing counselors and mentors. Set up a profile and start exploring college options! For both high school students and transfer students.

Apply for long-term college-readiness/scholarship programs (for both high school students and transfer students)! Consider these opportunities:

  • Posse Foundation offers comprehensive college access programs that support high school seniors (including STEM students) and veterans throughout college (list of partner colleges) and into the workforce.
  • Jack Kent Cooke Foundation offers the Young Scholars Program (five-year, pre-college scholarship for high-performing 7th grade students with financial need), College Scholarship Program (scholarship for high-achieving high school seniors with financial need who seek to attend and graduate from the nation's best four-year colleges and universities), and Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship (two to three years of financial support for community college students seeking to complete their bachelor’s degrees at four-year colleges or universities).
  • Questbridge offers National College Match (helps outstanding low-income high school seniors gain admission and full four-year scholarships to partner colleges), Quest for Excellence Awards (provides resources and opportunities to highly qualified high school juniors with a range of specialized backgrounds and interests), and College Prep Scholars Program (equips high-achieving high school juniors from low-income backgrounds with the knowledge, confidence, and resources to apply to top colleges).
