안녕하세요! 원어민 영어 튜터 Paul Baber입니다. 작년에 UCSD를 졸업했고, UCSD에 다니는 동안 UCSD Extension의 "Conversation Leader" 프로그램에서 3년 동안 국제학생들에게 회화를 가르치며 일을 했었습니다. 제가 도와주고 가르쳤던 학생들 중에서 한국학생들이 많았구요. 예전엔 한국에 교환학생으로 가서 1학기 동안 연세대학교에서 공부를 한 경험도 있습니다.

저는 특히 학생들의 Listening과 Speaking에 많은 도움을 줄 수 있구요. 다른 영어선생님들과는 달리 특히 요즘 많이 사용하고 있는 Real American Slang과 Idiom을 부수적으로 알려주는 것도 좋아합니다. 요즘 어학원에서도 약간의 Slang들을 알려주기하지만, 제 한국친구들이 사용하는 경우들을 보면 오래되서 지금은 잘 사용하지않는 Slang들이 많더라구요. 그리고 국제학생들이 잘 알지못하는 미국 문화를 share하는 것에도 굉장히 관심이 많습니다.

예) San Diego에서 갈 만한 곳 (Sea World 같은 대중적인 곳이 아닌 정말 괜찮은 Bar, Restaurant 등등), 미국 친구들이 하는 House Party 등등

Hello there! My name is Paul Baber and I want to help you with English. I recently graduated from the University of California, San Diego and while I was studying I spent three years working as a Conversation Leader at the extension helping foreigners with their conversational English. Most of the students I helped were Korean and I spent 4 months as an exchange student in Seoul studying at Yonsei University.

I love to help students with idioms and slang, and I specialize in helping with listening and speaking. I also love American culture, and love to share things with foreigners that they may not know about, like certain places to go in San Diego, and certain phrases you would never learn from a typical English class. I can also help with any reading or writing questions you may have.
