정말 황당한 교통 벌금이 700불이나 나왔어요 도와주세요
제가 2달전쯤에 딜러를통해 옥션에서 차를 구입했습니다
그런데 며칠전 주차티켓을 끊겨서 그거 결제하러 싸이트에들아갔다가
제가 결제해야할 티켓이 2개더 있다고 총 3개를 결재하라고 나오더라구요
그래서 들어가보니깐 제가 차를 사기전에 7~8개월전에 이전 주인이 걸리고 결제
를 하지 않은듯한 벌금이 거의 700불 가까이 나와있고 결제하라고 되어있습니다
벌금을 내지 않았는데 어떻게 저한테 타이틀이 넘어올수있죠???
dmv에 가봤는데 자기들은 벌금은 모른다고 하더라구요
이런경우 어디가서 따져야하나요 도와주세요

되네요. DMV는 parking tickets를 발부하는 곳이 아니라서 모른다고 하는것이 맞습니다.
1. Parking tickets를 발부하는 곳을 찾아가서 설명해야합니다.
2. DMV에서 차를 최종인수를 증명할 수 있는 서류와 parking tickets 들고 해달 관할 경찰서(부서) 가셔서 따지셔야 합니다.
3. Parking ticket를 보시면 관할 경찰서 주소 또는 ticket 발부자가 있을겁니다. 거길 가서 설명하시고 잘 못된 fine에 대한 증명서류를 보여주세요.
4. 죄송한 말씀이지만, 최악의 경우 해당 vehicle owner가 떠 안는 경우도 있습니다. 제가 캘리 거주한지가 얼마안돼 해당 법을 정확히는 모르겠네요.

It works like this:
- The person responsible is the driver at the time (a previous owner)
- If they don't pay up then police will pursue the registered owner of the vehicle (who, in most cases will have been the driver)
- If the registered owner is not the miscreant, they have to provide a statutary declaration to police that they were not driving the car at the time AND identify the person who was. Simply saying "it wasn't me officer" is not enough - you have to dob someone in.
- If this occurred before you purchased the vehicle, you simply have to provide evidence that you purchased the vehicle AFTER the tickets were issued - the papers showing when you took possession will be more than enough proof. Police will then pursue the previous registered owner.
- Simply, you must proof (evidence showing when you actually registered your new vehicle) that you're not the registered owner of the vehicle when those tickets were issued.
