About "The SanDiego Korean Pungmul School"
"Supports and preserves the identities of our future generations
by having them learn about the glorious spirit of our Korean ancestors
and
experience a variety of traditional Korean musical culture.
We will pass this culture down to our youth
by teaching Pungmul (musical play),
Minyo (folk song)
and Talchum (mask dance).
We play a variety of Korean traditional instruments,
such as Kwangari(small gong), Jing(large gong),
Janggu(hourglass‐shape drum),
Buk(barrel drum),
Sogo(small hand-￢‐held drum), and Taephyungso(Korean trumpet).
Activities / Outcomes:
• Earn community service hours and certificates
by
participating in practices and performances.
• Participate in the San Diego River Park Foundation
